Currently a freelance host, reporter, and multimedia journalist, Sonia has interviewed professional athletes from the NBA, NFL, NHL, and Olympics, as well as local media personalities and music artists.
Her work includes interviews with: NBA players Andris Biedrins (Golden State Warriors), Ronny Turiaf (New York Knicks), Marcus Camby (Portland Trailblazers), Greivis Vasquez (Memphis Grizzlies), as well as former Golden State Warriors head coach Don Nelson and current general manager Larry Riley; NFL offensive tackle Anthony Davis (San Francisco 49ers); NHL right wing Viktor Tikhonov (Phoenix Coyotes); 2008 U.S. Olympic Synchronized Swim Team; and more.
Sonia has worked for various sports organizations in the Bay Area including: three-time Super Bowl champions, Oakland Raiders; Emmy award-winning and number one high school sports show in the nation, Cal-Hi Sports Bay Area; ESPN's TrueHoop Network affiliate, WarriorsWorld TV; and California's regional sports network, Comcast SportsNet Bay Area.
With an educational background consisting of a Master of Arts in Multimedia Communications from the Academy of Art University and a Bachelor of Science in Marketing and Journalism from San Francisco State University, Sonia has acquired skills to be a versatile contributor in print, online, and television media.
In her free time, she enjoys snowboarding, wakeboarding, basketball, and other sports, as well as reading, writing, television and movies, guitar, learning languages, video games, and spending time with friends and family.
